Welcome to the Speech and Language Team
Caroline Watson has 18 years’ experience as a Speech & Language Therapist. She trained in Leeds and then spent 2 years working in the West Midlands.
In 2005 Caroline returned to Leeds and has worked in a variety of settings, including 5 different SILCs across Leeds, mainstream primary schools, community clinics and as part of the Community Feeding Team.
Caroline loves working at Penny Field school because of it’s warm and caring atmosphere, great team of staff, and wonderful children and young people.
The children have a wide range of speech, language and communication needs.
These may include:
Children at the early stages of their communication development, who may be using Objects of Reference and Intensive Interaction
Children who are developing language skills who may need to learn to listen to and use longer sentences.
Children who are working on their speech sounds.
Children who use AAC.

Caroline also supports children in the setting who have eating, drinking and swallowing needs.
This support takes the form of direct assessment at lunchtime and snack time, completion of feeding plans, onward referral for further assessments, liaison with other professionals, training of Penny Field staff, and liaison with parents.
Caroline is always happy to hear from parents and can be contacted on her work mobile 07712544190 or by leaving a message with school. (Please allow a few days for a reply).
In her spare time Caroline loves to cook, go for walks and spend time with her family. She has 3 children and 10 guinea pigs!
