Take One Picture

In this topic, we choose a famous painting and use it as a stimulus for all of our work. The painting we have chosen is Kandinsky Composition No.8 (please see the link below). I have also included a link to an animation of the painting on YouTube for your child to watch.

We will explore the artwork by re-creating it in different formats including painting, collage and wax crayon during our art sessions. There will also be a strong focus on colours, shapes and patterns alongside learning about different materials in our Science work.

As usual, we have developed a new set of knowledge organisers for this half-term. The information is presented using pictures, symbols & words so you can share them with your child if appropriate.
